Oriental Meditation

The verses of the "Satipathanna" of Buddha and the "Raja Yoga Sutras" of Patanjali are universally recognized as landmarks of the meditation tradition. More recent masters such as Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Aurobindo, and Krishnamurti from India, Goenka from Burma, Suzuki from Japan and many others made meditation relevant to Western culture.

Tranquility

Meditation is an extraordinarily powerful tool for physical and mental tranquility as well as for personal and spiritual growth. Meditation developed during the Upanisadic period (circa 500 B.C.E.) and flourished with the advent of Buddhism in India. Today meditation continues to have relevance for an ever-increasing number of people.
