Who is this course for

This Course is designed for those students who have already completed a training course of a minimum of 200 hours.

The course consists of 100 contact hours.

Focus

This course is designed and conceived primarily for all those who want to learn how to teach and practice meditation. Participants interested in this course need interest and previous experience in meditation.

Objective

Meditation is a practice that is aimed at knowing our inner world and enhancing psychophysical harmony. This course brings us closer to different possibilities of personal teaching as well; how to train other students in the practice of meditation.

Structure

Our training program consists of:

  • 40 hours training techniques.
  • 25 hours teaching methodology.
  • 10 hours Meditation philosophy and tradition.
  • 25 hours practicum.

Themes

The contact hours that make up this curriculum are distributed between different training areas:

  • Techniques of Meditation:Meditation includes techniques such as listening to the breath, repeating a mantra, or detaching from the thought process, to focus the attention and bring about a state of self awareness and inner calm.
  • Mindfulness:The 'mindfulness' component of this course is, above all, experiential. It consists of: establishing a personal practice, exploring the underlying core concepts and teaching participants how to guide meditations within the secular context of a course of mindfulness.

  • Health and Psychological Benefits:

    The relaxation and reduction of stress that are claimed to result from meditation/mindfulness may have prophylactic and therapeutic health benefits. Many research papers claim to show this.

Wes (Shanmugananda) maintains a multi-vocal interpretation of the spiritual traditions while honouring their uniqueness. His views can be provocative but they are always enlightening. Wes emphasizes the importance of understanding the Yoga tradition and respecting the plurality of its world views. The approach is therefore not dogmatic but pluralistic.

Madhana - Manuel Agulla

He is the director of the Sananda Yoga Center in Vigo. Co-founder of the AIPYS. He is a trainer for trainers in teacher training courses. His extensive knowledge on the pedagogy of the postures, philosophy and tradition of yoga make the courses he teaches of special interest to the participants.

Pedro A. Flores

Pedro directs the philosophy, classical texts and Hindu tradition components of our Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Courses and is one of the teachers in the advance module in Meditation/mindfulness course.

Kate Fitzroy

I was trained in the practice of Yoga - Hatha and Iyengar styles - by Yoga Center Madrid. In recent years I have delved into the study of Buddhism especially the Triratna movement. Thus, I have practiced mindfulness, yoga and meditation for myself and experienced increased harmony and richness in everyday life.

I have trained with Respira Vida (associated with Breathworks in the UK, part of the UK Mindfulness Network) and have been validated by the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
